This class is for judokas aged 8-15 years including beginners. This mat covers the fundamentals for falling correctly and basic techniques before progressing onto more adanced techniques. The mat is more challenging than the primary mat and tries to encourage the players to identify their own style of judo involving grips and entries after the basics are learnt. The session also includes basic and judo specific fitness exercises including; sprints, sit ups, squats and press ups, grip work and team games.Students are also set homework on some weeks so that coaches can monitor players progress and understanding. The homework varies from translating terminology to planning their own fitness circuits that we can run in club or planning the warm up for the forthcoming weeks.
