MEET THE COACHES
At One and All Judo Club all of our coaches are fully qualified coaches with The Amateur Judo Association. All coaches are fully CRB/DBS checked, First Aid Trained and also have Safeguarding Certificates.
SENSEI VANESSA - 1st DAN BJA AND 2nd Dan AJA, FORMER BJA BRITISH CHAMPION, FORMER ENGLAND SQUAD MEMBER, FORMER JUNIOR GB SQUAD MEMBER, UKCC LEVEL 2 JUDO COACH, FdSc SPORTS HEALTH AND FITESS, BSc SPORTS PERFORMANCE AND COACHING
Sensei Vanessa started judo at the age of 7, now at the age of 26 she has gained many medals, qualifications and awards. In 2010 she won the British Championship in Sheffeild and a year later won Cornwall's Young Coach of the Year award. At the age of 13 she gained a place on the England Judo Squad and Junior GB Squad where she remained for 6 years and used this experience to both train and compete internationally visiting places such as; Italy, Germany, and France. In her teenage years she also had trials for the Youth Olympic Games where unfortunately she could not complete the trails due to injury. In between her sporting commitments she has completed university graduating with a foundation degree in sports health and fitness and a honours degree in sports performance and coaching.
SENSEI SEAN - AJA 1st Dan, AJA SENIOR CLUB COACH, JUNIOR STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING COACH
Sensei Sean joined our club in 2010 after his son and daughter took up the sport. Sean never intended to do the sport competitivly and took the sport up for fun and fitness. Sean helps on all sessions with technique and is the junior strength and conditioning coach to help prepare the junior members for competitions.
SENSEI KIRA - AJA 1st DAN, AJA CLUB COACH, BSc SPORTS COACHING, DEVELOPMENT OF YOUTH COACHING
Sensei Kira is an original member of One and All Judo Club and has represented the club at the AJA national championships where she won bronze, she qualified as a club coach at only 16 years old and is now a club coach. Kira has a degree in sports coaching and is using this at the club to help train our younger members to qualify as assistant junior coaches.
SENSEI JAY - AJA BLUE BELT, AJA JUNIOR COACH
Sensei Jay is an original member of One and All Judo Club and has represented the club at the AJA national championships on numerous occasions and is the current AJA Senior National Champion dispite only being 16 years old, there was no-one in his age group to fight so he took the step up and fought in the Seniors (18+) and won all of his fights. Jay has also qualified as a junior coach and helps on all the sessions whilst also training on his own preparing himself for competitions and gradings and studying at college.
